Should I or Shouldn't I?

Hmm... I want to become a Youtube Partner. But before I can even apply I would have to delete about a dozen of my videos because most of my vids have images that don't belong to me. Plus I put in music that isn't royalty free either. In order to apply I would have to delete most of my vids and start to just upload vids that have no background pics at all. Even all that doesn't mean that I'd be accepted as a partner, but at least I'd be considered. What do you think? Should I do something like this? I can still upload vids with all the background images on my website, www.gaycomicgeek.com but I just can't do it on youtube. What do you guys think?

Hi Paul,

What is the benefit to becoming a partner?
Does being a partner mean they will bully you less about your content?
Personally, I think you have enough momentum to drive your own site to the point that you wouldn't actually need to use youtube anymore. But, thats just my opinion.
That aside, if there isn't a financial interest, I'm not sure why you would be liable at all for using music or the images.

I say you don't need to be a partner. You're doin fine on your own.

I agree, you have loyal followers. We will follow

I agree with Jezza and Wonder Man. I think it looks like you have a committed base to work with, without having to partner and impose restrictions on yourself.

I don't know that youtube would be an ideal partner anyway, if you're looking to improve your exposure. There are better ways to target your core readership.

I have youtube. I have my own channel. I am not sure if "partnering" with them is what I would do.

Now I have to go and see if it is worth me doing as well.

I think what you're doing now works.

as someone who blogs about "questionable content" I can tell you that most official corporate affiliate programs are a pain in the ass. What do you get out of being a youtube partner?
